For thousands of years and countless generations, history has witnessed the same scene: A potter sitting on a dirt floor kneads a large piece of wet clay. At first it has an irregular and robust shape, but at any moment that shapeless mass becomes a round and perfect pot. Then, with a little time, sun and fire, the clay will harden into a useful and beautiful object.<\/p>

That is the magic of clay.<\/strong><\/p>

From there, through the fascination with this art, is where Innovando la Tradici\u00f3n emerged. A non-profit organization that works hard to revitalize the pottery tradition in Oaxaca \u2014the most culturally diverse state in Mexico\u2014 through social and participatory design, solidarity economy and cultural development.<\/p>

At the same time we created Colectivo 1050\u00b0, its commercial branch.<\/p>

After 10 years, we are already an artisan-owned cooperative with potters from more that seven communities in Oaxaca and its surroundings. We are united by the love for clay and the desire to share its benefits with the world. We strive to create a prosperous future for our families, our communities and our craft whose roots extend deep in history.<\/p>

We collaborate to create simple and elegant designs that bridge rural and indigenous worlds with urban modernity, the wisdom of tradition with the dynamism of innovation.<\/p>

The colours of 1050\u00b0 are the colours of the land, of its rich geography of hills and slopes, of its flavours, smells and textures.<\/p>

One by one and with great attention to detail, we create high quality jugs, bowls, plates, fruit bowls, pots, comales and other functional objects so that you can enjoy in your hands the magic that unites earth, fire and water, so you may be able to be part of this collective dream.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Durante varios miles de a\u00f1os e incontables generaciones, la historia ha presenciado la misma escena: Una alfarera sentada en un piso de tierra amasa un gran trozo de barro h\u00famedo. Al principio es una forma irregular y robusta, pero de un momento a otro esa masa informe queda convertida en una olla redonda y perfecta. Despu\u00e9s, con un poco de tiempo, sol y fuego, la arcilla se endurecer\u00e1 hasta volverse un objeto \u00fatil y hermoso.<\/p>

Esa es la magia del barro.<\/strong><\/p>

As\u00ed, de la fascinaci\u00f3n por este arte, surgi\u00f3 Innovando la Tradici\u00f3n<\/a>, una organizaci\u00f3n sin fines de lucro que trabaja arduamente para revitalizar la tradici\u00f3n alfarera de Oaxaca, el estado m\u00e1s diverso de M\u00e9xico, a trav\u00e9s del dise\u00f1o social y participativo, la econom\u00eda solidaria y el desarrollo cultural.<\/p>

A la par creamos Colectivo 1050\u00b0<\/strong>, su brazo comercial.<\/p>

Despu\u00e9s de 10 a\u00f1os, somos ya una cooperativa conformada por artesanas y artesanos de m\u00e1s de siete comunidades en Oaxaca y sus alrededores. Nos une el amor por el barro y el deseo de compartir sus bondades con el mundo. Luchamos por crear un futuro pr\u00f3spero para nuestras familias, nuestras comunidades y nuestro oficio cuyas ra\u00edces se hunden en la historia.\u00a0<\/p>

Colaboramos para crear dise\u00f1os simples y elegantes que unen el mundo rural e ind\u00edgena con la modernidad urbana, la sabidur\u00eda de la tradici\u00f3n con el dinamismo de la innovaci\u00f3n.<\/p>

Los colores de 1050\u00b0 son los colores de la tierra, de su rica geograf\u00eda de cerros y laderas, de sus sabores, olores y texturas.\u00a0<\/p>
