THE HISTORY<\/strong>
VATTEA was born in Medellin, Colombia, from the union of Laura and Ana Maria Maya Silva, two sisters who at the end of their career in jewelry production and industrial design respectively, decided to create their jewelry brand in 2016.
They elaborate each piece full in details and pay close attention to the hand made processes, the work with the hand-woven and starched threads is the result of a research process with natural starches that has managed to obtain an impeccable manufacture.<\/p>

THE INSPIRATION<\/strong>
We are inspired by several ancestral cultures and their representation through objects and symbols, we take the colors as references of Colombian folklore to evoke the warmth and strength of Latin women.<\/p>

THE\u00a0MATERIALS<\/strong>
VATTEA\u2019s base material is bronze. Each piece receives a texture or polish to get this rustic effect that is seen in our jewels; then each piece is armored in 24 carat gold. Cotton yarn is another material that characterizes us; it goes through a hand sewing process to finally be starched with other natural starches. Our results are flawless pieces with great hand-made value.<\/p>

WORKFORCE<\/strong>
Our artisanal processes are developed by people from our community; we have households mothers, people with mild disabilities and ex-inmate women as well. They are responsible for sewing threads, starching, finishing and packing. Some of them work from home and others come to our workshop in Medell\u00edn. We are partakers on providing new job opportunities.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

HISTORIA<\/strong>
VATTEA nace en Medell\u00edn, Colombia, de la uni\u00f3n de Laura y Ana Mar\u00eda Maya Silva, dos hermanas que, al terminar su carrera de producci\u00f3n de joyer\u00eda y dise\u00f1o industrial respectivamente, deciden crear su marca de joyer\u00eda en 2016.
Elaboran cada pieza con gran detalle y cuidado en los procesos manuales, el trabajo con los hilos cosidos a mano y almidonados es resultado de un proceso de investigaci\u00f3n con f\u00e9culas naturales que ha logrado obtener una manufactura impecable.<\/p>

LA INSPIRACI\u00d3N<\/strong>
Nos inspiramos en diversas culturas ancestrales y sus representaciones a trav\u00e9s de objetos y s\u00edmbolos, tomamos los colores como referentes del folclor colombiano para evocar la calidez y fuerza de las mujeres latinas.<\/p>

LOS MATERIALES<\/strong>
El material base de VATTEA es el bronce. A cada pieza se le da una textura o pulido para dar ese efecto de rusticidad que se ve en nuestras joyas, posteriormente cada pieza es ba\u00f1ada en oro de 24 quilates. El hilo de algod\u00f3n es otro de los materiales que nos caracteriza, este pasa por procesos como la costura a mano y luego un almidonado con f\u00e9culas naturales. Nuestro resultado son piezas impecables con gran valor artesanal.<\/p>

LA MANO DE OBRA<\/strong>
Nuestros procesos artesanales son desarrollados por personas de nuestra comunidad, contamos con madres cabeza de familia, personas con discapacidad leve y ex presidiarias. Ellas son las encargadas de la costura de los hilos, el almidonado, terminaci\u00f3n y empaque. Algunas trabajan desde casa y otras vienen a nuestro taller.
