Maestras Artesanas is a Brand that produces unique home pieces designed and made in Mexico, uniting traditional techniques and contemporary design, promoting artisan rights.<\/p>

What we do<\/strong><\/p>

Since 2011, Sarah Hamui has been propelling the creation, growth, and sustainability of women-owned businesses in Mexico by providing artisans with a global market for their handmade products and investing in their education.<\/p>

Education Program<\/strong><\/p>

We believe that education is the key to long-term empowerment and social change. That\u2019s why we provide artisan women\u00a0 in indigenous communities\u00a0 training in design and business management to build and sustain independent livelihoods.<\/p>

Maestras Artesanas is also a program to train new generations of artisans. We seek to change market relationships and open a space in which their work is recognized for its quality and generates profits for the woman and communities that produce them.<\/p>

Handmade Products<\/strong><\/p>

We partner with groups of artisan women in Chiapas, Oaxaca, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Michoacan and Estado de M\u00e9xico to create a range of handcrafted products that bring beauty into the world through modern design, time-honored techniques, and genuine artisan skill.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Maestras Artesanas es una marca de dise\u00f1o colaborativo, innovaci\u00f3n, conservaci\u00f3n e intercambio de saberes de comunidades ind\u00edgenas en M\u00e9xico de origen Tzotzil, Tzeltal y Nahua en conjunto con la dise\u00f1adora Sarah Hamui.<\/p>

Desde esta filosof\u00eda acercamos oportunidades de fortalecimiento en nuevos dise\u00f1os, autonom\u00eda econ\u00f3mica y nuevos mercados.<\/p>

\u00bfC\u00f3mo lo hacemos?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

Creamos colecciones de productos para el hogar, cada pieza est\u00e1 impregnada de los valores de un mundo ancestral y contempor\u00e1neo. Es a trav\u00e9s de talleres creativos que creamos las diferentes colecciones de colores y definimos las caracter\u00edsticas de cada producto.<\/p>

Para Sarah Hamui es un honor trabajar en colaboraci\u00f3n con ellas ya que, entre su enfoque como dise\u00f1adora, los conocimientos y sabidur\u00edas de las artesanas en t\u00e9cnicas textiles de telar de cintura, tintes naturales, iconograf\u00eda en brocados y bordados han logrado objetos innovadores de gran valor cultural.<\/p>

Responsabilidad Social<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Las Maestras Artesanas elaboran sus textiles en telar de cintura, t\u00e9cnica prehisp\u00e1nica que expresa su riqueza cultural, as\u00ed como bordado a mano y elaboraci\u00f3n de cester\u00eda. Este trabajo se realiza en conjunto con 4 cooperativas sumada el esfuerzo de m\u00e1s de 350 artesanas.<\/p>

Cada Maestra Artesana es responsable de transmitir a sus alumnas los requerimientos del pedido y las apoya en su trabajo fortaleciendo con esto sus capacidades de dise\u00f1o y producci\u00f3n.<\/p>

Programa Educativo<\/strong><\/span><\/p>

Maestras Artesanas es tambi\u00e9n un programa para capacitar a nuevas generaciones. As\u00ed mismo buscamos cambiar las relaciones del mercado y abrir un espacio en el que su trabajo sea reconocido por su calidad y genere utilidades a las mujeres para que ellas y sus familias tengan ingresos que les permitan acceder a la salud, educaci\u00f3n y a una amplia plataforma de derechos.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
